Take a look at Samsung’s upcoming foldable devices in all their glory
Samsung’s foldable 2022 lineup – the Galaxy Z Flip 4 and Fold 4 – will be announced at an Unpacked event on August 10th. However, leaks from the past few weeks have already ruined its party and revealed almost everything about the hardware. To make matters worse, hands-on images of the Fold 4 and Flip 4 have now surfaced online, showing thinner outer edges and less visible wrinkles.
In hands-on photos shared on Twitter by Tweet embedThe Galaxy Z Flip 4 looks remarkably similar to the Flip 3. The inner bezels could be a little thinner than the current model, but the change seems too small to be confirmed except by a side-by-side comparison. Additionally, the Flip 4’s aluminum frame has a metallic look in the leaked images compared to the glossy finish on the Flip 3.
At first glance, hands-on images of the Galaxy Z Fold 4 also do not reveal any major design changes. The device looks a little wider in hand than the Fold 3, which indicates a change in the aspect ratio. But this can only be confirmed by a direct comparison. The outer hinge also appears to be slimmer. As for the foldable screen’s wrinkle, it looks less noticeable than last year’s model. However, it could become more prominent after a few folds, so it’s too early to comment on whether Samsung has made any improvement in this area. What is clear is that the upcoming Korean foldable giant will not have a flat screen like the Oppo Find N.
Leaked hands-on images indicate that Samsung’s foldable 2022 lineup will not bring drastic design changes. The improvements, if any, will be minor and unlikely to address any of the major pain points in current generation models. However, if you’re still interested in getting your hands on the company’s upcoming devices, you can reserve the Galaxy Z Fold 4 or Flip 4 now to save $200 on them when they launch.
