Dukureh—a resident of Charlotte, North Carolina and a resident of Nashville—graduated from Fisk University with a bachelor’s degree in theater. She also holds a Master’s degree in Education from Trevecca Nazarene University.

The stage actress played her first major role in Big Mama Thornton, a job she didn’t take seriously.
